Με διαφορετικές από τα συνηθισμένα επιλογές παρουσιάστηκαν οι υποψηφιότητες για τα φετινά βραβεία Emmy. Το hype για σειρές όπως τα Shogun, The Bear και Abbott Elementary φαίνεται πως δικαιολογήθηκε και μεταφράστηκε σε αρκετές υποψηφιότητες σε σημαντικές κατηγορίες. Κι αν για αυτές ήταν κάπως σίγουρες οι υποψηφιότητες, αυτό δεν ίσχυε και για το Baby Reindeer του Netflix ή την τέταρτη σεζόν του True Detective, που αντιστοίχως φιγουράρουν ανάμεσα στους πιθανούς νικητές των βραβείων.

Από αριθμητική άποψη, το Shogun σάρωσε τα πάντα, μαζεύοντας 25 υποψηφιότητες, ενώ έγινε μόλις η δεύτερη μη αγγλόγλωσση σειρά που προτείνεται για Emmy Καλύτερης Δραματικής Σειράς. Πολλές υποψηφιότητες συγκέντρωσαν ακόμη τα The Bear (23), Only Murders in the Building (21), True Detective: Night Country (19) και Fallout (16).

Τα φετινά βραβεία Emmy θα είναι τα 76α και θα πραγματοποιηθούν στις 15 Σεπτεμβρίου.
